Full Job Description

Our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) accommodation team working in Ipswich aims to help Asylum Seekers, between the ages of 16-21, integrate into the local community.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our UASC Accommodation team as a Assistant Accommodation Project Worker. You will provide comprehensive support to young people in our accommodation setting.
This role is aimed at an entry level for a passionate person wanting to move into the supported housing field, learning to work with a variety of people from all walks of life who may be vulnerable and require some assistance and support to live independently.

Key duties include
+ Provide support and encourage residents to gain the skills and knowledge they will need to positively move forward with their lives after their time with us.
+ This will include completing assessments, key working, and teaching life skills.
+ Maintain high standards of support to create an environment that is homely, welcoming, and safe in which clients can engage and develop.

Skills and Experience In summary, the successful applicant will have the following qualities:
+ Experience of working with young people with complex needs, although not necessarily in a housing context
+ Proven ability to use IT software including Microsoft Office and online databases.
+ Ability to write reports, keep case notes and client records.
+ Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car preferable but not essential criterion to fulfil the requirements of the role.

In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. Days and hours 20 hours per week, this includes 2 alternative Saturdays each month 3:30pm-00:00am.The remainder of hours can be negotiated to suit the applicant.
Salary and Benefits Annual salary £11,897.60, additional benefits we offer include.
