Full Job Description

We are looking for an Account Manager, with a passion for international affairs and development, to join our specialised team. This is an English-speaking role, although French language skills would be desirable. The Account Manager would be required to carry out some or all the following key tasks within the International Development team:

  • Act as first point of contact for day-to-day management of client work

  • Provide strategic counsel to portfolio of development clients, advising on best communication approaches and tactics across multiple channels

  • Work with team members to develop insight-based strategies and messaging documents

  • Advise on story angles and approaches to engage with target media

  • Build relationships with key international and national media

  • Track topical issues in media, making recommendations for engagement

  • Develop engaging content such as press releases, opinion pieces, website copy, background materials

  • Help coordinate and deliver activity around external and owned events

  • Conduct research and supporting with the development of new business proposals

  • Work with teams to conduct monitoring and evaluation of communication activities

  • Contribute to daily meetings, and liaising and updating clients on communications activities

  • Managing and mentoring junior members of staff

    Minimum 3 years' experience working in a fast-moving policy-focused or media-focused environment gained either in an agency or in-house.

  • Have excellent writing skills in English (French desirable)


  • A degree in a research-oriented social science or arts, e.g. politics, history, economics and English or equivalent experience is preferred


  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the media and international affairs is essential.


  • Previous experience of global development, working with the United Nations, Public Affairs, politics and campaigning is an advantage


  • Experience in journalism, blogging and social media is an advantage


  • Can conduct comprehensive analysis of information to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and relevance.
