What will you be doing on the apprenticeship? As an Accountancy or Taxation Apprentice, you'll join an exciting BBC team while developing your skills in areas like:

  • Financial Management
  • Assurance, Risk and Control
  • Financial Information
  • Legislation
  • Strategic Business Management and Governance

You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) focuses on management accounting and provides expertise in financial management and business strategy. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) offers a broader spectrum of accounting skills, covering areas like audit, taxation, and financial reporting, preparing professionals for various roles in finance and accounting., Apprentices starting at BBC from September 2025 will be placed on a 'Fixed Term' contract. This means your contract is for the duration of your apprenticeship only. The BBC is committed to investing in new talent and as you approach the end of your apprenticeship, we will work with you to support you and offer you employability and networking training to help you secure your next role - this might be a job here at the BBC, or somewhere in the wider media industry.

    On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be a fully qualified accountant who will be able to apply for a broad range of roles in financial functions in the BBC and across the industry!,

  • A calm and focused approach to changing circumstances, By the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
  • Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation, Have completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline by the time the scheme starts in September 2025
  • Have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or above or an equivalent qualification

This role supports the finance team which consolidates financial results across the genre's international portfolio in the UK, US, France, Germany, Nordics, India, South Africa and Australia. This role will be exposed to all aspects of finance from forecasting to understanding the fundamentals of financial accounting. BBC Studios Brands Finance: Brands and Licensing Finance at BBC Studios is responsible for managing the financial aspects of extending BBC Studios' intellectual property through brand extensions and licensing deals. This division supports the monetisation of popular BBC brands like Doctor Who, Bluey, and Top Gear, ensuring financial stability and growth through strategic partnerships and innovative consumer products. Content: The BBC's Content Division is the largest and most diverse portfolio within the Corporation, combining production, commissioning, and distribution across a breadth of media genres such as TV, Audio, Video. News: The news finance team support the News and Current Affairs division in the BBC. News is a large division with 4500 staff across the world who make a variety of News output for both UK and International audiences on TV, Radio and online. From Elections to Wars to in depth investigations Finance support the Editorial teams with managing budgets and decision making.

  • A starting salary of £25,500 (+ £5,318 London Living Allowance)
