Accountant

Job Description: We're seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to joins our Finance team. The accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the financial operations of our restaurant. This role requires a strong understanding of restaurant-specific financial metrics, such as P&L, EBITDA, and the ability to provide actionable financial insights.,

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet, EBITDA calculations specific to restaurant operations.


• Analyze financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability and provide detailed reports to support decision-making.


• Perform reconciliations of accounts, including cash registers, bank statements and credit card transactions, to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.


• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, handling payments, and tracking outstanding balances.


• Assist in preparing and managing budgets and forecasts for operations.


• Support financial planning efforts by analyzing budget performance and providing recommendations.


• Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported and prepare necessary documentation and reports for internal and external audits.


• Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  
  Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.


• Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on restaurant or food & beverage service accounting.


• Certification: CPA, AAT, ACCA or relevant certification preferred.


• Skills:


• In-depth knowledge of restaurant accounting practices, including P&L management, cost control, and financial analysis.


• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, VT Transaction) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.


• Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.


• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.


• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with restaurant management and staff.
