Full Job Description
We are looking for an exemplary Accountant, ideally with manufacturing experience, to provide strong financial controls and reporting, at Explore Manufacturing / the Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC) in Steetley, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. CEMC is at the heart of Laing O'Rourke's commitment to offsite manufacturing, and is the industry leading offsite precast facility, which began production in July 2009, manufacturing a range of products including walls, floors, columns, beams, platforms and bridge components for Laing O'Rourke's and external client's projects throughout the UK. Current projects include Everton's new stadium, Olympia redevelopment, Oxford Humanities and various HS2 packages. Take a look at the facility: https://youtu.be/NuVqXPhsID0 Main Accountabilities: The role comprises the following key responsibilities: · Reporting Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow performance along with submitting budget/forecasts to Group
- Analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances in budget & forecast
- Take responsibility for balance sheet accounts, FAR & stock listings ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a monthly basis · Weekly cash forecasting, driving opportunities to maximise cash and manage working capital
- Internal review ensuring Stock and WIP are reflected accurately in the system and on reports
- Proactively identifying and improving finance and business processes to ensure fast, accurate management information is available
- Keeping up to date with Accounting Standards and implementing new accounting treatments where necessary
- Understanding business risks and strategies
- Prepare and review the supporting schedules for year end audit
- Preparation of VAT & CIS returns
- Travel occasionally required to other offices
- Two direct report - Accounts Clerks
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) - Strong communication and influencing skills. An ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to build and maintain productive working relationships
- Proven experience working in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to prioritise workload
- Experience in developing and improving processes
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and monthly reporting
- Excellent IT skills - particularly Excel and PowerPoint with Power BI an advantage. Desirable:
- Experience using SAP, COINs, Tagetik, and Power BI
- Experience working within a large manufacturing company. Personal Attributes:
