Full Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Global Process Excellence and Strategy), you'll be processing, analysing and reporting financial transactions and information. You'll also assist with general accounting, RI Finance Close processes and prepare various management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.,

  • Ownership of the Reinsurance Finance Close plan and reporting up to the general Finance Close Manager
  • Ownership of all Reinsurance Finance Interfaces as well as finance inputs for upstream and downstream interfaces into and out of the Reinsurance platform
  • Ownership of the Reinsurance System Chart of accounts
  • Preparation and review of the Reinsurance to GL reconciliations
  • Preparation of Subledger Reinsurance Journals including earnings
  • Preparation of all out of subledger system Reinsurance Journals (G/L journals)
  • Preparation of Reinsurance Analytical Reviews
  • Respond to all Reinsurance Audit Queries related to the RI finance processes including account reconciliations
  • Assisting with the finance responsibilities linked to the RI migration project such as conversion reconciliations, balance sheet remediation, and establishing and running the new finance close process
  • Assisting with misc. finance responsibilities

    We would love to hear from you, should you have an accounting experience in reinsurance within Operations and Finance and are a qualified accountant (accounting degree or qualified accounting certification).
  • Other skills you'll need:
  • Knowledge of RI Facultative and Treaty structures and how to calculate Reinsurance.
  • Great communication skills and ability to build relationships and trust at all levels internally and externally.
  • Advance skills in spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures.
  • Exposure to project management, process remediation and transition states is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Oracle, Peoplesoft or other GL system is preferred.
