Full Job Description

We are now recruiting for a Business Services Senior to join either our Carlisle or Leeds office., This is the perfect next step for an experienced Accounting Senior looking to specialise in the Legal Sector, or an experienced Accounting Assistant looking to take the next step in their career and specialise in the Legal Sector. This role is also ideal if you're seeking to progress, as we hope to promote the successful candidate to Assistant Manager relatively quickly once they have settled in. Please note that having Legal Sector experience is not a requirement in order to be considered for this vacancy. The main elements of this role will include:

  • Having a knowledge of, or a willigness to learn about the Legal Sector, including the role of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and their accounts rules, key terminology around work times and sector specific issues
  • Completing draft finacial statements for a mixture of basic / large / complex sole practitioners, partnerships, LLPs, EOTs and companies ready for review by a Legal Sector Assistant Manager / Manager
  • Completing meeting packs and annual benchmarking reports for all Legal Sector Business Services assignments
  • Completing draft business tax computations ready for review by a Legal Sector Assistant Manager / Manager
  • Understanding and comparing KPIs for our Legal Sector Business Services assignments and ensuring the calculations make sense
  • Assisting with preparing Pricing Options documents as required and this includes the use of the Pricing Matrix
  • Assisting with researching the marketplace for potential new leads

  • A Full UK Driving Licence
  • Either AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified already
  • Experience of working in an Accounting capacity at an Accountancy Practice (experience of working with clients in the Legal Sector is desirable but not essential)
  • Comfortable working in a fast past environment
  • A dedicated team player and willing to assist colleagues within the team where possible
  • Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Able to use initiatives and have great organisation / problem solving skills
  • Keen to become part of a dynamic team
