Full Job Description

For our Accounts and Controlling division in London we are looking to hire a: Accounts Assistant - The London Accounts Department is a friendly and efficient team that looks after all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and ad-hoc administration tasks for Berenberg's offices in London, Paris and Sweden; ensuring the smooth running of operations is at the forefront of what we do, striving for external (supplier and clients) as well as internal (employees) stakeholders satisfaction. This is achieved by paying suppliers (invoices) and employees (expenses) promptly and ensuring all client invoices are settled within Berenberg payment terms. We also participate in projects such as system implementations and streamlining of processes and undergo internal and external audits. We work in close collaboration with our German colleagues in Hamburg HQ and there is a strong sense of co-operation across the whole organisation. In this role you will report to the Head of Accounts London and carry out a variety of tasks depending on business needs which means you will be versed in different departmental responsibilities. What will you do?:

  • Internal administration of the complex travel and entertainment expenses, expenditures and credit cards
  • Verify that expenses are in alignment with company policy and receipts are in compliance
  • Responsibility to ensure accurate allocations of cost and expenses
  • Reconciliation of bank account.
  • Being part of the invoicing process.
  • Assist in audits of expense reports and compliance with corporate travel and expense policies
  • Ensure a high level of service with regard to quality and promptness
  • Manage reporting and statistics process

    Finance related degree (or a numerically focused discipline)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in order to check each expense and invoice
  • Competent Excel skills (ideally at Advanced level)
  • Strong communication skills to liaise regularly with all levels of stakeholders
  • Good team player
