Full Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will carry out duties including:
- Data processing purchase invoices using Xero
- Producing sales invoices and ensuring all payments are received in accordance with contract conditions, following up where necessary
- Recording supplier invoices and making payment runs
- Bank reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts
- Process, post and reconcile petty cash returns
- Monthly processing of timesheets, mileage and expenses claims; liaising with payroll
- Monthly reconciliation of control accounts and assisting with management account preparation and monthly journals
- Managing the contracts and services regarding the fleet of company cars and company mobile phones
To be successful as our Accounts Assistant, you will be at least a year into your Accounts and Finance career, perhaps looking to further develop your career in Finance. In addition, we are looking for the following skills and attributes: - Willing to learn, interested in continuous professional development
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Outlook and Word)
- Good working knowledge of finance software preferably Xero
- Some Payroll experience is advantageous
- Copes well under pressure, enjoys working to deadlines
- Excellent customer service and effective communication skills with a high standard of written and spoken English
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, personable and a team player
- Conscientious, excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach with the ability to see tasks through to completion, Candidates must be within commutable distance and must have the right to live and work in the UK. If this criteria is not met, your application will not be considered.
