Full Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team at an extremely exciting time for the business. We are currently standardising our finance processes as we've recently implemented a new system.
As a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring invoices are processed ready for payment in a timely manner in line with procedures, building relationships both internally and externally to ensure that queries are dealt with promptly. You will work together with your finance colleagues to embed new processes, with a continuous improvement mindset to improve ways of working across the team and drive key KPIs.
Main Responsibilities
Proactively manage flow of invoices through the system, ensuring invoices are processed ready for payment in a timely manner.
Ensure key account reconciliations are carried out on a monthly basis including resolving/escalation of queries
Follow up and review aged items and debit balances on the ledger
Support with annual audit requirements
Increase process automation
Assist with generating payment runs, ensuring all due invoices are picked up for payment.
Provide cover for the AP Manger
Champion best practise, working with team colleagues to review ways of working with a view to driving efficiencies and improving key measures.
Experience of working in Accounts Payable in an organisation with a continuous improvement mindset.
Good knowledge of Excel and experience of working with an ERP system (Dynamics 365 beneficial)
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability to influence others to achieve results
Be a true team player, yet self-motivated
