Full Job Description

To ensure Accounts Payable documentation is processed accurately and promptly enabling the Trust to pay all monies due in line with NHS payment policy.

To manage Accounts Payable staff and provide relevant training on all areas of the accounts payable process.

To ensure the segregation of duties between input staff and payment processing.

To set up new suppliers on the ledger by the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.

Effective management of the Trust's purchase ledger, o Manages the Accounts Payable team ensuring that the department's targets are met, giving advice and guidance to the Accounts Payable section to ensure maximum efficiency without the need for referral to management.

o Ensures that the Standing Financial Instructions, internal office procedures, audit requirements and the Better Payment Practice Code are adhered to at all times.

o Communicates with members of the Technical Accounts department to ensure accurate administration of payments and maintenance of the purchase ledger system.

o Communicates with external suppliers resolving any queries that they may have.

o Resolves queries and offers advice and guidance to the Accounts Payable Assistants.

o Significant data input via VDU for most of the working day, ensuring accurate and timely information recording, involving periods of prolonged concentration.
