Full Job Description

The successful post holder will be expected to have passed the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) and hold Accredited Clinical Coder status.
As a Clinical Coder you will ensure that all clinical information from patient records is translated into a coded format in accordance with National and International Clinical Coding Standards and Trust guidelines.

To contribute to our exciting future and become part of our team, apply today., To analyse and abstract diagnostic and procedural information from patient records across all specialties.
To translate diagnostic and procedural information using ICD-10 and OPCS and enter coding onto the Trust's PAS via encoding software.
To routinely use all electronic clinical systems available to ensure all relevant details are recorded for each patient spell.
To ensure all discharged patient spells are coded by SUS submission deadlines.
To regularly communicate issues with uncoded discharges via internal reporting processes in the agreed format.
To maintain the levels of coding accuracy as defined by Data Security Toolkit Standard 1 Data Quality and achieve the performance metrics as defined internally by the Clinical Coding department.
