Full Job Description

You will work closely with the Active Lives Head of Service receive a full induction and regular support. You will work closely with the wider Active Lives Management Team.

From directly speaking to the people that we work with they want people who support and work with them are nice and kind. We want staff to give us space (when we need it) and be respectful.

Grace Eyre is looking to recruit an experienced Service Manager to lead the successful running of these services, with a focus on the Arts and Creativity workstream. Experience of managing services and line-managing staff are key to this role. Being a great leader and a people person is key in supporting the 70 plus people who attend our Service each week.

Brief outline of the role: Active Lives activities and projects are delivered in our base in Hove and some delivery in the local community. You will be one of the key managers responsible for the management and leadership of the Active Lives service. You will have demonstrable experience in social care, community development and/or line management.

Excellent organisational and communication skills are key to this role, e.g. you will be communicating with colleagues, people we support, families, carers and partners. Experience of working in day services for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism would also be attractive.

Good IT skills and being confident in using Microsoft Office are essential. This is needed as Active Lives has a variety of funding streams, e.g. social care and Trust & Foundation Grants. Report writing and data management is important to this role.

Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities.
