Full Job Description
You will work across our services for adults at Adelaide in Ryde, Gouldings and Saxonbury in Freshwater, Westminster House in Newport, and Plean Dene in Shanklin.
Our services provide residential care and support on a long- and short-term basis for adults with a variety of support needs from confidence building, getting around and about, and support with a range of activities of daily living. Your role is to add value to people's day by listening to their interests and providing a range of stimulating and appropriate things to do that help them pursue their interests and have fun.
You will work with some great teams who have the people we support at the heart of what they do. You will be a welcome additional to the team, building on the work people have already done as part of their day job with the ability to provide more focussed help and support. What we also need you to do, as well as your creative flair, we want you to engage the support of the local community through volunteering so when you are not at the services, they have people who can continue the good foundations you have created.
If you have sensitivity to support people with a range of needs (no care experience is necessary), the ability to meet the travel requirements of the post (for which you will receive reimbursement) and a real desire to be playing bingo one day to planning an outing with a person on a 121, recruiting a volunteer or to making cakes and having craft sessions or getting a person into education, this role is for one for you.
Do you want to use your creative talents and willingness to see people grow and have fun. Come and join our supportive team as our first Activities and Wellbeing Co-ordinator for our care home services across the island., Disability Confident
