Full Job Description

  • Managing all aspects of case progression for simple and non-complex adaptations from enquiry through to works completion.
  • Managing an allocated caseload of work, at various stages, ensuring progression of cases to performance timescales.
  • Providing advice and support to all customer's accessing the service, irrespective if they are eligible for assistance.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the service., In the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close the post before the date stated to prevent the number of applications received being unmanageable.     Following the successful in-housing of the adaptations service in 2023, Tamworth Borough Council are now seeking a dynamic and customer focused individual to join our expanding team as an Adaptations Officer. This committed and highly motivated person will drive forward the delivery of the adaptions service across all tenures, helping the older and disabled residents of Tamworth to live independently and safely in their homes through the provision of adaptation grants and holistic housing advice.,
  • Experience of home adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) delivery, including test of resources and assessment of need.
  • Experience of working in housing, health, or social care.
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
  • Experience of managing a varied and complex caseload and meeting set deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both as a team member and independently.
  • Trusted Assessor Level 4 qualification, or a willingness to work towards this.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle., Public facing roles are covered by the Fluency Duty as outlined in section 78 of the Immigration Act 2016, to serve the public it is vital that those working in public facing roles can communicate in English with members of the public receiving local authority services.
