Full Job Description

We provide services for adults of working age, adults with learning difficulties, and older people in the London area. We currently deliver most of our care to residents in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. However, we also provide substance misuse services in Westminster, and a substance misuse and psychological therapies service to people living in Kingston.

What you'll be responsible for:

· Support and provide an efficient, effective and complete Mental Health Act administration service on behalf of the Trust for patients who are formally detained; ensuring that the requirements of the law are met and that the rights of patients subject to the Act are safeguarded.

· Develop and maintain key working relationships including Mental Health Act colleagues, legal representatives, multidisciplinary health and social care professionals and team managers, to ensure a high-quality service.

· Liaise with the Tribunal Service, CQC, Ministry of Justice, the Courts and other agencies as appropriate.

· Assist colleagues in providing expert knowledge/advice to staff on aspects of mental health law to ensure compliance, with support from the MHA Administration team.

· Carry out the day-to-day administration of the Mental Health Act office, using agreed procedures, ensuring that all administrative requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 are followed and adhered to during the admission of detained patients.

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous admin experience

· Previous NHS experience

· NHS System Knowledge- RIO (desirable)

· Customer service experience

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years administration experience., By joining us you can look forward to a choice of flexible Bank shifts across any of our client Trusts in England, as well as the ability to develop professionally and gain experience in several wards or areas.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9-5 on-site

Band: 3/£12.97ph
