Full Job Description

The Admin and Attendance Assistant Assistant is a key part of the department and will be responsible for providing an adaptive, timely and efficient administrative service across the team and college in line with best practice, and relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivers a high level of customer service for the Construction department.


  • Supports the work of the department to provide exceptional administrative support across all areas of the College and all groups of staff with regards to staff/student records and the recruitment process.


  • Provides an initial response for general queries received to the Construction & Engineering department.


  • Provides a first-class experience when responding to parents and carers. Is prompt to reply to all queries from learners, staff, and management team, ensuring a friendly, engaging manner, and keeping them informed at every stage as directed by the management team.


  • Maintain and update at risk registers, ensuring they are accurate and current.


  • Supports with ensuring the College Induction process is current and is delivered to all new employees.


  • Creates shortlisting packs and supports with arranging interviews.


  • Ensures all training sessions and attendance is logged on the LMS via available reports and relays this to the relevant manager. Works with departments to ensure accurate CPD (Continuing Professional Development) records are held for all staff.


  • Produces correspondence to staff and provides all relevant documentation to support key processes.


  • Manages and updates Fee Waiver Trackers, cross college Departmental Training Plans and induction records accurately.

  • Education & Training

  • GCSE A- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent. (e.g., 1, O Level A - C)


  • GCSE A- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent. (e.g., 1, O Level A - C)


  • Experience
  • Experience of administrative work in a high pressure, fast paced environment, preferably People Services environment, and is comfortable with a busy and varied workload.


  • Experience of supporting the upkeep of an ATS.


  • Experience of supporting the upkeep of LMS.


  • Experience of staff onboarding processes and legal frameworks.


  • Strong organisation skills and time management; able to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met.


  • Able to keep accurate records and manage trackers.
