Full Job Description
The postholder will be part of a dedicated administration team which provides a range of administration support to the authorities Transport service.
While based within the Transport office in Durham, you will also be aligned and part of the authorities Business Services team, whom provide support services to teams across the Council., Dealing with a range of enquiries, using a range of media (Teams/ Phone/ Email/ Web/ CRM system) and ensuring high quality services standards are maintained.
Providing a range of administration support to the team as required, inc use of Teams, Outlook, MS Work/ Excel, use of specialist computer systems, and general filing, photocopying.
General finance, orders, invoicing and budget support, for example; invoicing, raising accounts, arranging recharges and providing management information as required.
To undertake the administration of all matters associated with Highways Public Liability Insurance (PLI) claims.
Deal with queries from Insurer's and Solicitors instructed by the insurer to act on our behalf
Keeping accurate records and information, for example; logging Planning Applications/ data requests/ traffic orders/ permit forms.
Preparation of reports and correspondence
Support in the direction and coordination of BS colleagues and apprentices as appropriate.
Maintaining strict confidentiality and an efficient approach to service requests and delivery.
The candidates must have
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or relevant equivalent qualification. For example 2 A Levels (A-C Passes), BTEC ONC in relevant area.
Experience of working in an office.
Awareness of the need for confidentiality (data protection).
Planning and organising workloads.
Working accurately with attention to detail.
Effective use of MS Office applications.
Administrative systems and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Efficient use and ability to learn computer systems.
Able to use own initiative in dealing with, and prioritising workload.
