Full Job Description

Here at Serco, we are looking for an Allocations Admin Support Officer to join our team at HMP Doncaster To support and contribute to reducing reoffending by effective and efficient allocation and sequencing into Education, Training and Employment. The role will actively coordinate allocation and attendance measures to ensure prisoners attend their activity on time with minimal interruptions. Utilising Digital Personal Learning Plans (DPLP's) to ensure prisoners time spent in custody is meaningful and actively engaging in purposeful activity relevant to a prisoner's sentence plan. Where possible, providing opportunities for skills to be learnt and experience to be gained in areas to support successful resettlement,

  • To be responsible for the allocation and sequencing of prisoner pathways in custody ensuring prisoners engage with the most appropriate activity at the most suitable time in their sentence.
  • To actively seek and use feedback received from departments, staff and prisoners to ensure high attendance.
  • Prioritise workload efficiently ensuring educational courses are filled to maximum capacity daily.
  • Ensure employment spaces are filled to maximum capacity, contributing to prison targets.
  • Communicate with all departments within the establishment to support smart allocation.
  • Collate daily figures on attendance and provide to manager to monitor local performance.
  • Contribute to weekly allocations board meetings, providing relevant prisoner information including education levels to inform discussions and decisions on progression in custody.
  • To maintain accurate records/databases on live data and ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to sensitive information.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures and provide help and support in all areas of the function as required by your line manager.
  • Complete required induction training as well as any ongoing/refresher training required for role and to support development.

    Recognised qualification in Maths and English Experience:
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Good working knowledge of databases
  • Demonstration of flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to form good working relationships.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a busy small team.
  • Solve issues at the earliest stage, presenting solutions to managers when required.
