You may also be required, on occasion, to assist with any other relevant duties which might include helping to set up school events or supporting whole school administrative requirements.

We are looking for a proactive individual with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to help identify improved systems within our school operations as well as assist in the smooth running of our established processes. Responsibilities will not be restricted to those listed above and the right candidate will require a high level of flexibility.

  • A willingness to train as a first aider (desirable)

  • Experience of working with SIMS (or other education MIS) would be beneficial but training can be provided. A knowledge and understanding of the education sector and/or experience of working within a school environment would also be desirable.

This vacancy is full time, 8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday and will be term time plus one week with flexibility for the right candidate. We would consider applications for part time working (at least 4 days a week preferred).

We are a welcoming, caring and supportive working environment and high priority is given to the wellbeing of our staff and students. In addition, we offer:
  • A generous pension scheme for support staff

  • Access to a Cycle to Work scheme

  • An active Staff Wellbeing Committee with numerous enrichment activities on offer

  • On-site free parking

  • A wellbeing day per academic year (prorated for part timers)

  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme

  • All requests for flexible working will be considered

  • We pride ourselves on our ethos and culture which promotes positive relationships and behaviour. In our most recent Ofsted report (Nov 2022), inspectors observed that '"Lessons are calm and purposeful and led by knowledgeable, passionate teachers. Pupils show dedication to learning and pay close attention to their teacher's instruction"'.

Robert May's School, which dates from 1694, is a high attaining and oversubscribed 11-16 Academy school with a distinctive ethos based on the charitable principles of our founder. We would welcome the opportunity for an informal discussion or visit. Please contact Lisa Shackleton, HR Officer for further information or to arrange a visit.

An online search will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. This is in line with guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Interviews will take place as soon as possible afterwards. Please note that the school reserves the right to interview on receipt of applications, and to appoint prior to the deadline, so early application is recommended. Please note that previous applicants for this post need not apply again.
