Full Job Description

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit enthusiastic, self-motivated and compassionate people to work on our hospital.

We are looking for people with experience in working in a customer service / health care or social setting how are highly motivated / caring / flexible with proven problem solving, communication and keyboard skills?

An exciting opportunity is now available to work in our admin and clerical team located in the transport department. The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the high-quality service provided to our patients and staff, as well as the efficient running of the service.

The post holder will also provide health care assistance to patients waiting in the hospital transport waiting area under supervision and guidance from other members of the team, collate, input and analyse basic patient data on a range of systems and web portals. The post holder must work within The Christie NHS Foundation Trust policies and Health & Safety legislation.

Hours are 30 per week on a flexible rota within a remit 8:00 am till 21:00 pm Monday to Friday/ occasional Saturday may be required., Assist transport admin team with clerical duties, booking of non-emergency transport for patients to and from the Christie, booking patients ready and future transport appointments on the Ambulance Services portal, liaising with a number of transport providers.

Maintain cleanliness in the work environment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection prevention control policies and guidance in line with Trust health and safety policies.

Be responsible for self and others through identifying risks and undertaking work activities in a safe manner.

Actively support and assist in alleviating distress and anxiety of patients or carers, consistent with their personal beliefs and preferences

Assist in refreshment service as required in line with Trust hygiene and food handling policy.

Assist patients in their mobility requirements, help move and position appropriately to maximise their physical comfort utilising equipment as directed by the multi professional team.

Assist, direct and escort patients/visitors where and when appropriate.

Assisting patients in gaining access to, and in the use of, appropriate toilet facilities

Undertake the Christie Care Certificate.
