Full Job Description

The post holder will be working alongside the Medical Secretary for the team working primarily within the Medical Pathway to provide a proactive, comprehensive secretarial service and support to allocated staff within the team, including medics and NMPs (Non-Medical Prescribers) and effective cross-cover, particularly when the Medical Secretary is on leave.

A full time post has arisen within the Learning Disabilities Community Treatment Team based at Greenacres in Ashington. The Post holder will have experience of working in similar work environment and previous secretarial experience is essential due to the demands of the role.

The successful candidate will have the following key skills and experience;

Secretarial experience working within a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in a customer / patient and service user focused environment as you will be taking calls into the service and covering reception at times as required.

A good understanding of the RIO system (not essential as training given to those who have not worked on this system before, however, strong IT skills are essential)

A working knowledge of Microsoft word/office packages and typing qualifications or demonstrable experience

Good verbal and written communication skills

Minute taking skills as attending various meetings to take notes and on occasions updating RIO and action plans live on a screen is required during this

Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team

Well organised and structured

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role, The role will involve allocated tasks, to include but not limited to; minute taking, diary management, arranging of clinics, appointment letter, typing / preparing and sending relevant correspondence to clients, updating our patient information system and supporting cross-cover to the wider team where required. A good knowledge of Microsoft packages and typing qualifications are essential for this role.

You should demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate in all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
