Full Job Description

Thames Valley Police have the vison to be an excellent police service, trusted by all our communities. To achieve this vision and deliver our strategic aims and objectives, we are seeking highly motivated, organised AIU Administration Support Assistant to join us. Role purpose: You will support the Strategy Delivery Officer by providing an efficient and effective administration support function to AIU. You will support the efficient running of AIU hubs by ensuring they have all the equipment, tools and resources they need and carry out day to day administration and organisation of meetings, and events, diary commitments. You will provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers

  • Good standard of secondary education, including English, and Maths to GCSE (or equivalent) and / or recent experience of working in a demanding office environment with competing demands whilst managing high workloads. Must possess keyboard / word processing skills.
  • Very organised with an ability to prioritise, be flexible and motivated to work to non-negotiable deadlines, with a substantial workload.
  • Excellent IT skills: ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook to a high standard (e.g. Preparing high standard presentations and reports) with a willingness to learn and understand TVP systems. Demonstrable minute taking experience is essential.
  • Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills which can be adapted to all levels of the organisation with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively to internal and external audiences applying diplomacy, integrity and discretion. Ability to problem solve a range of different issues.
  • Proven ability to act with integrity whilst managing confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered
