The Specialist Operations Branch is made up of around 1,000 police officers and staff.

Led by Chief Superintendent Mark Dexter the Central Ticket Office (CTO) lies within the following main section:

Specialist Operations Planning/ Business Continuity/ Roads Policing - This section is led by Superintendent Gareth Parkin and includes: Safer Roads Policing which comprises of the Central Ticket Office, Roads Policing & Motorway Units (RPU), Safer Roads Targeting Team (SRTT) Serious Collision Investigation Unit (including Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit (FCRU)) (SCIU),Operation Wolverine (including Operation Considerate), Traffic Police, Community Support Officers (TPCSOs), Road Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (RTCIU) and Road Traffic Collision Administration

The CTO is responsible for the administration and processing of Road Safety Camera offences, Fixed Penalties, Traffic Offence Reports and any associated driver awareness courses.

The office also deals with the prosecutions of offenders who fail to comply with the Road Traffic Act and oversees the deployment and use of Road Safety Camera vehicles and equipment with the aim of reducing those killed and seriously injured on the roads of Greater Manchester.

The admin assistant plays a key role in the CTO, supporting the unit teams and team leaders with comprehensive administrative cover.

Dealing with high volumes of data input and offence correspondence together with related tasks such as call centre cover, court file preparation, scanning and postal duties, the CTO Admin Assistant is trained to be able to support any team where required.

A candidate is sought who is able to work as part of a team and be flexible to ensure support where necessary to other teams when required. The candidate will have a good standard of education, an overall knowledge of Microsoft applications and able to process/input high volume data both efficiently and accurately.

The candidate will have good interpersonal skills to be able to deal with the public on the telephone and in writing and to work with other team members to achieve desired outcomes.

Currently investing in a new target operating model for its Information Services Branch that will enhance the way the force is able to provide policing. The Information Services Branch are deploying new IT infrastructure and services that will keep police up-to-speed with real time information both at the police station and whilst they're on the street.
