Full Job Description
A new and exciting opportunity has become available to join the Cardiology Team at the William Harvey Hospital. This role will provide administrative support to our clinical teams across the site.
The successful applicant would be joining a motivated team, responsible for monitoring and supporting patient's through their pathway from referral to treatment, whilst also working closely with clinicians to ensure patients are at the heart of everything we do., To provide comprehensive administration, clerical and audio typing support to Consultants and their teams. Working in a team based secretarial service providing support for the administration teams and ensuring continuity of the service. Monitor and support the patient's pathway. Act as the point of liaison between patients, GP's, other staff and outside agencies, · Accurate data entry of all patient records.
Scanning documents to patients' electronic records.
Open and distribute incoming post and prepare outgoing post.
Collection and return of any patient notes needed.
Accurate filing in patient notes as required.
Manage all enquiries proactively, effectively and courteously to ensure a smooth and safe pathway for all our patients.
Cover medical secretaries at times of leave, absence, etc.
Supporting the team to ensure all clinical correspondence is typed within the Trust's agreed timeframes and proactively take forward any instructions from the medical team including booking outpatient appointments and confirming any investigations necessary are requested.
Support the operational team to facilitate a reduction in the patient's overall journey to assist in the delivery of the 18-week referral to treatment (RTT) target and ultimately improve patient care.
The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer facing roles.
Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check.
Applicants for eligible roles requiring Tier 2 sponsorship must meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
