Full Job Description
The Information Governance (IG) Team are seeking to recruit an Administrative Governance Assistant on a permanent contract. The IG Team sit under the Digital Health Informatics Division and are a small team providing highly customer focused support to all areas of the Trust. Information Governance is a framework that enables the Trust to handle personal information and other information that is sensitive or valuable, in a confidential and secure manner, to appropriate ethical and quality standards. We are looking for an individual to provide a full and effective comprehensive range of administrative support, which will enable the department to fulfil its function to a high quality standard., You will be required to;
- Support the IG Team with key governance functions
- Preparation of meetings, diary co-ordination and responding to email queries
- Support the function of Freedom of Information with general administrative duties
- Ensuring the Trust meets its obligation under the Information Governance/Freedom of Information function so that Trust processes reflect legal and national requirements. You will contribute to the development of guidance documents to inform staff, patients and the public of their rights under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulations. You will be a key support to the IG Team liaising with all departments across the Trust ensuring their compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. You will have sound IT skills and a commitment to provide excellent customer service and be a team player with a flexible attitude to your day to day work with the ability to forge good working relationships both internal and external to the Trust. Attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately is essential. As a valued member of the team you will deal with telephone, post and email queries in relation to IG and Freedom of Information and provide general clerical and administrative support to the team., You will be working across the Information Governance (IG) team which includes the Freedom of Information (FOI) service. To provide support in facilitating all IG matters including the process to ensure the Trust's compliance with both data protection and freedom of information legislation. You will support with various Information Governance (IG) processes including, but not limited to, preparing meeting documentation, supporting the IG Team in connection with data security breaches, assisting with IG meetings and aiding cyber security awareness. The Administrative Governance Assistant will assist with the Information Governance function providing support with activities to help ensure good information governance practice across the Trust. Working with the IG Team in providing co-ordinated administrative support . The role is crucial to the delivery of one of the Trust's statutory duties and involves liaison with various disciplines and levels of staff throughout the Trust. The post holder will be required to;
- Support the IG Team with the key governance functions

- General education to A-level or equivalent Desirable criteria
- IG Qualification
- FOI Qualification, Experience in handling FOI requests
- Experience of Microsoft Windows packages to include word processing, database and power point
- Understanding the NHS infrastructure and terminology
- Good knowledge of Information Governance Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in an Information Governance environment
