Wide Way Medical Centre cares for 16000 patients in East Merton, SW London. Our team consists of GPs, ANPs, Practices Nurses, Phlebotomists, paramedics, health and wellbeing coaches, link workers, care coordinators, Pharmacist supported by our wonderful administrative and front of house staff. Main duties of the job Tobe responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrativeduties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinaryteam. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information(electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinaryteam members and external agencies such as secondary care and community serviceproviders and in accordance with current policies, including the use of theelectronic referral service (ERS)., Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the medical administrator. There maybe on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependentupon factors such as workload and staffing levels : a.Processingincoming and outgoing mail b.Fileand store records as required c.Photocopydocumentation as required d.Actionall incoming faxes e.Processletters as requested f.Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information g.Scanningof patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patientshealthcare records h.Processreferrals to external agencies such as secondary care i.Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary j.ActionGP2GP tasks k.Processreferrals using the electronic referral system (ERS) l.Processrequests for information SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLAforms m.Processincoming e-test results, ensuring they are referred to the relevant clinician n.Readcode data on Emis Web o.Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately p.Manageall administrative queries as necessary q.Carryout system searches as requested r.Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times s.Supportall clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested t.Processall DNA letters in accordance with current protocol Inaddition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may berequested to : a.Partakein audit as directed by the audit lead b.Producemeeting agendas and record the minutes of meetings where required. c.Supportreception staff, providing cover during staff absences d.Bookappointments e.Completeopening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota f.Asrequired support the Reception Team in the management of repeat prescriptions,ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
