Full Job Description

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing an administrative service to the cardiac physiology department. This requires close liaison with consultants, patients, medical and nursing staff, physiologists and managers.
This is a multi-skilled and busy role with frequent requirements for concentration, where the work pattern can be unpredictable with regular interruptions. Handling of complex and sensitive information and the need for confidentiality is integral to the post. The post holder will require a working knowledge of IT systems, in addition to knowledge specific to cardiology. The role will include booking patients for
out-patient clinics, diagnostic tests and handling GP, BHT clinician and patient queries. The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision and will be expected to liaise and communicate as appropriate.
The post holder will need a flexible approach to ensure that administrative processes are implemented, adhered to, maintained and improved.
The post holder will need to develop and maintain a close working relationship with their teams in order to ensure maximum efficiency in the management of the waiting list. We have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our friendly Cardiac Physiology team in Cardiology. The department delivers various diagnostic investigations across the Trust's sites, as well as delivering a busy pacing service at our Wycombe Hospital site. We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual who would like to support our cardiology team by providing efficient administrator services, including booking and reception desk cover as required.
The successful candidate will be a team player as well as being able to work independently and use their initiative to resolve challenges. Good communication skills are essential as the role involves liaison with a wide range of people including clinical staff, patients, medics and other administrators within the wider cardiology SDU. Previous administration experience is preferred, along with strong IT and organisational skills. The role will involve working with confidential information so a knowledge of data protection is an advantage. Although NHS experience is preferred, full training will be provided alongside opportunities for personal development. Due to the day to day variation in the role, the ability to communicate effectively is essential.
