Full Job Description

We are seeking an Examination Administrator to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our Adult & Community Education Service - OFSTED rated good'. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to support our aim to remove barriers to work or learning. What will be expected from me?

  • To provide an effective and high-quality business and administration support service to managers, learners, and staff, to support the operational services provided by ACES
  • To support in the creation, development, and distribution of appropriate materials which market and promote the Adult and Community Education Service
  • To provide an effective and high-quality Customer Service which engages, supports, and offers progression routes to learners and other stakeholders
  • The successful applicant will have : a good understanding of exam processes and an enthusiasm to enhance the learning experience.
  • What I might be doing?
  • To provide an effective administration and business support service to staff and learners by providing a range of administration tasks which may include bulk data input, typing, diary management, photocopying, producing correspondence.
  • To co-ordinate the process of on-line and paper-based assessments and registrations in line with strict awarding body regulations to mitigate malpractice.
  • To ensure that examinations are appropriately timetabled, staffed and invigilated in suitable venues to JCQ required standards.
  • To work closely with the Exams Officer and deputise in their absence responding to subsequent inspections where necessary to mitigate risk of approval being withdrawn.

    4 GCSE C or above grades including : Maths, English and 2 other related subjects.
  • ICT Qualification such as EDCL, ICT GCSE or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of business administration systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Awarding Bodies and accreditation systems and processes including an understanding of the procedures relating to the conduct of examinations
  • Understanding the principles of data protection, confidentiality and information security and working in an environment dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of IT systems required for the role e.g. Microsoft Office programmes or other equivalent systems.

    This is a full-time permanent role.
