Full Job Description

Outwood Academy City Fields is an 11-16 academy based in the friendly cathedral city of Wakefield. The Academy was rated Good by Ofsted in March 2022. We joined the Outwood Family of Schools in 2018. Excellent teaching and the highest standards of behaviour are at the heart of everything we do, and we champion innovation in all aspects of learning.

We were delighted that in its latest report, Ofsted noted 'Outwood Academy City Fields is a school where leaders want the very best for pupils. Their motto of putting 'students first' is something that directs and guides leaders' actions each day. Because leaders set such a strong example of their high ambitions for pupils, other staff mirror these aspirations'.

We know that the ingredients of a great school are an inclusive, broad and balanced curriculum, high quality teaching and learning, positive behaviours which promote engagement and great pastoral support which, when combined can create a great culture where we raise standards and transform lives. At the heart of everything we do is excellent teaching and the highest standards of behaviour. We champion innovation in all aspects of learning, while striving to develop a school-wide mindset based around mutual respect and acceptance.

At Outwood Grange Academies Trust we are a family of schools that strive to raise standards and transform lives. We are excited to offer this opportunity to work as an Inclusion Administrator. The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the SENDCO (s), Inclusion staff and wider team to support the learning of students.

Working in our academy you will become one of the 'family' and whilst we particularly welcome applicants with experience of working with children and young people, it is more important that you have a child centred approach in working with our very special children as a full programme of training and development will be provided for all successful candidates. You must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to manage your time effectively. Having the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is essential. We are looking for someone with a passion for working in education and working with young people, dedicated to building a strong relationship with all students. Our students thrive when working with colleagues who possess a good sense of humour and approachable personality, a good joke is always welcomed in the inclusion offices.

Needless to say you will possess excellent administrative skills, be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Having a working knowledge of standard computer packages is essential to enable you to be able to produce appropriate correspondence and documents and to be able to update and maintain the SEN register. However, full training will be given on our academy IT systems. We believe that all teaching and support staff posts within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of supporting student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious professionals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.
