A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Administrator/Receptionist to join our team in the Emergency Department at York Hospital. This is an exciting time for our Emergency Department, following a £15m investment to expand and reconfigure our Urgent and Emergency Care facilities at York Hospital. Applicants should have a passion for wanting to provide high quality customer service as the first point of contact to the department, and be able to thrive in a fast paced and sometimes unpredictable environment., The role involves:

  • Registration of patients attending the Emergency Department
  • Providing a courteous and efficient reception service
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the Emergency Department Administration/Reception, adhering to procedures and guidelines
  • Dealing with a variety of enquiries made in person or by telephone
  • Undertaking any other tasks as directed
  • You will need to demonstrate excellent communication/ interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, demonstrate self-motivation and be a team player with a wide range of varying duties. You will take pride in your work, and always be professional, proactive and courteous. Previous receptionist experience and keyboard skills would be an advantage. The successful applicant would need to be flexible as the job entails working nights, weekends, bank holidays with unsocial hours as part of the role.
