Full Job Description
In collaboration with Dementia UK, The Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance are looking to recruit a registered nurse (RN, RNMH, RNLD) with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship-centred dementia care with a strong sense of advocacy and equalities for this client group to join the existing team comprising of 4 Admiral Nurses with 1 team lead. You will be employed by Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance based within/across Coventry, Rugby and Warwickshire North . You will work under the direct managements of the Admiral Nurse Clinical Lead and will receive ongoing support from Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care. You will become part of the wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post graduate courses and develop professionally, as informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework. The successful applicantwill be a NMC registered nurse,withrelevantpost-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia andsupportingtheir carers/supporters in different settings. Experience in a primary care setting is desirable. This could be in advance of the interviews or upon an offer of employment being made., The Admiral Nurse will support, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance in order to improve the experience of carers/families affected by dementia with complex needs. In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at a specialist level, the post holder will provide: Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for people with dementia and families with complex needs Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care Support with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia Dementia UK defines this as the person living with dementia and others who may be carers or family members. Admiral Nurses work together with families to provide support, expert guidance & practical solutions.
