Full Job Description
We will be opening our doors early in 2025. We will cater for young people aged 11-16 with a primary need of SEMH and other related areas of SEN such as ASD. The first phase of opening will see approximately 48 pupils join across KS3 and 4 many of whom may have been out of school for some time and desperately need support from ambitious, driven teaching and support staff who care deeply about pupils' emotional as well as academic development. This role will suit experienced SENCO or SEN officer. The post holder will need considerable knowledge and insight into SEN systems and processes such as EHCPs and annual review processes, the system withing the LA SEN team and SEN interventions within a school setting. All successful candidates will have ambitious expectations for all pupils and a desire to drive high standards and educational outcomes. All successful candidates will also have a willingness to take on new skills and approaches to meet pupils educational and emotional needs. This is a term time only -, permanent position with a National NJC pay grade Sc5 point 11 -15 (£27,269 - £29,093). The successful applicant will have: + Ability to organise all logistics in relation to Annual Review meeting, including setting up meeting space, inviting all attendees e.g. parents, teachers and other relevant professionals. + Experience and knowledge around the role of external professionals linked to pupils with SEN such as social care, therapists and other health professionals. + Ability to develop and maintain good communications with Local Authority SEN team in relation to consultations and admissions, providing updates, decisions. + An in-depth knowledge of IT e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, Databases. + To be able to Identify own learning needs and to attend training to develop professional knowledge and skills as directed by line manager through supervision.
