Full Job Description

The Permanence Team are looking to recruit a Social Worker to the Adoption Hub. Adoption Social Workers are responsible for supporting children as they transition into to the care of their adoptive families. Adoption Social Workers also provide support to birth parents, special guardians and other relatives.

Based within the Adoption Hub, you would undertake Step-Parent Adoption assessments and Special Guardianship assessments as well as assessments for special guardianship support. As part of the Permanence Team you would work closely with colleagues in the Fostering Hubs. As such, we are looking for candidates who are energetic and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team.

The role will include an emphasis on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children we work with. Given the diverse nature of the role and sensitive work that we do with families, suitable candidates must be adaptable in their approach and be equipped to manage the emotional demands of the role whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism.

If you have experience and skills in working with children and adults from all walks of life and are energetic and passionate about supporting positive outcomes for children and carers, we would love to hear from you!
