Full Job Description
The ADHD Assistant Practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Adult ADHD Service, providing assessment, monitoring, support, and interventions for clients diagnosed with ADHD. The role involves direct client work, including supporting patients with medication management, ADHD coaching, psychoeducational groups, and practical interventions to promote social inclusion, recovery, and well-being. The post holder will assist in training and development activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of service quality and patient care., Conduct assessments using recognised ADHD screening tools for new and existing clients within the service.
Monitor and support clients who meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD, providing ongoing assessment, care planning, and follow-up.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to manage and support clients diagnosed with ADHD, ensuring a coordinated approach to care.
Provide support and advice to healthcare staff as necessary, promoting understanding of ADHD and its management within the multidisciplinary team.
Maintain accurate electronic records of client information, including assessments, care plans, and psychoeducation activities, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
Generate reports on client numbers, assessments conducted, psychoeducation sessions, and other relevant data for team meetings and service evaluations.
Work as part of the wider mental health team to deliver a range of quality services and interventions, including group work and individual sessions, to support the recovery and well-being of clients with ADHD.
Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and evaluation, providing insights and recommendations based on client interactions and assessments., Assist in the induction, training, and ongoing development of new staff members within the Adult ADHD Service, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure new staff are well-prepared to deliver high standards of care.
Support the development and delivery of educational programmes, workshops, and seminars on ADHD management, including psychoeducation, available treatments, and best practices for clinical care. Target audiences include nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
Support audit and research processes within the service as a team member. Participate in research projects focused on ADHD management, ensuring the integration of research findings into clinical practice.
Assist in disseminating research findings to improve understanding and care for adults with ADHD across service areas.
Perform all duties in a professional manner in accordance with the Trust's Code of Conduct, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, confidentiality, and respect.
Stay up to date with relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies related to ADHD and mental health, ensuring compliance in daily practice.
Attend regular supervision sessions with the line manager and participate in annual appraisals to review performance and develop a personal development plan in line with Trust policy.
Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and mandatory training, staying abreast of the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Actively participate in team meetings, case reviews, and strategic planning sessions to contribute to service development and improvement.
Provide input and feedback during meetings, promoting productive discussions and collaborative decision-making, and facilitating a supportive environment for all team members.
