Our adult learning programme in Camden supports learners to develop self-confidence, learn new skills and to improve their understanding of their local community. How to access services, facilities and opportunities, so that they can make positive decisions about their lives. We are looking for qualified tutors who are dynamic and motivated to support individuals with a learning disability to develop their independence and employability skills., Our Adult Learning Tutors are responsible for setting up and delivering high quality and innovative workshop style courses across a broad set of themes including:

  • Employability: identifying and developing personal and employability skills.
  • Health & Wellbeing: developing skills to lead a healthy, informed, and independent lifestyle.
  • ICT: develop skills in IT and reduce risk of digital isolation and using popular programmes.
  • They are responsible for developing, planning and delivering sessions that take into account individual learning needs of the people we support They will also be responsible for progression monitoring and final reporting. Tutors will be expected to work with other professionals to recruit new referrals and identify key pathways for participants at the end of courses. Why Us? You will be be committed to improving the lives of adults with a learning disability as well as a supporting individuals in a flexible, innovative and person-centred manner. You will be be proactive in creating engaging online and in person session that empower people to reach their potential. You will be exceptionally organised and take ownership of learner data in line with contract requirements. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of/interest in supporting learners who have a learning disability, and the barriers they face to employment opportunities and social inclusion. You will bring your understanding of learning disability and autistic spectrum conditions to support people in a person centred way. You will have either AET or teaching qualification. Other things to note Our tutor roles are on relief contracts where hours are assigned per term for the whole term ahead. Typically, our classes are with 4-8 learners with a maximum of 12 learners. Courses are usually two hours per week for eight to twelve weeks depending on the term length. There are then varying amounts of courses each term delivering over 500 Guided learning hours per academic year. Unity Works understands the collective impact a diverse and inclusive team can bring.
