Full Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional cardiology nurse to join our Northwest Adult Congenital Heart Disease Specialist Nursing Team on a secondment for 12 months. This is a great opportunity to be involved in our supra-regional service for adults with congenital heart disease covering the North West of England, North Wales and Isle of Man. This role will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, which is the level 2 ACHD specialist centre for the Northwest, working within the existing ACHD specialist nursing team. You will be expected to work across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) sites.
We are committed to the continuing development of a world class service in the North West of England that meets NHS England CHD standards., The post holder will work as part of a team of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Nurse Specialists who are accountable for managing the care of ACHD patients across the ACHD North West Network. The post will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary (the level 2 ACHD specialist centre for the North West) and will include providing outpatient clinics and expert ACHD advice to the hospitals within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) (including Wythenshawe hospital, St Mary's hospital and Royal Manchester Children's hospital). In addition, the post holder will have honorary contract with the level 1 ACHD surgical centre based at Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital and will be required to work across the hospitals in the North West Congenital Heart Disease Partnership (NWCHDP) (including Royal Liverpool hospital, Liverpool Women's hospital and Alder Hey).
The post holder will provide specialist expertise and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, treatment and management of the client group. They will monitor and improve standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence based practice, teaching andsupporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. They will contribute to clinical governance within the service by undertaking audit and research as part of the MDT within the specialist field.
