Full Job Description

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Social Workers to join our Adult Neighbourhood Social Work Teams in Stockport.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and practice working with adults with complex needs.

The teams are closely aligned to health partners and in some areas are co-located with our District Nursing colleagues and third sector partners so Multi-Disciplinary Team working is a key element of the role. Working with partners across health, social care and the third sector you will play a vital role in supporting the people of Stockport.

As a vital member of the team, you will ensure that person-centred outcomes are met in ways which utilise available resources as effectively as possible. You will need to undertake all duties in line with the Care Act 2014 ensuring that the principle of promoting and supporting wellbeing is at the heart of your practice.

Stockport has 4 Adult Neighbourhood Teams located throughout the Borough and the teams work with people from 18yrs, who may be experiencing a wide variety of challenges in their lives.

As an experienced Adults Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, you will have already completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and have demonstrated your ability to be resilient, and to work under pressure. We are looking for Social Workers who are enthusiastic and take a person-centred approach to your practice.

Stockport's Adult Social Care Neighbourhood Teams are integral to Adult Social Care's operating model and aim to help the people of Stockport live their best lives possible through promoting independence; ensuring their safety ,promoting positive risk taking and working with our partners. We are committed to ensuring our staff provide excellent social work practice offering quality support for Stockport residents that is appropriate and proportionate for them.

The Neighbourhood Teams consists of Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, ASYE Social Workers, Social Work Apprentices and Social Care Officers.
