Full Job Description
Our Council is proud of the fact that we constantly strive to deliver for local people. Does your CV say that you are a driven individual, passionate about achieving results that ensure customer satisfaction? Does it prove that you are task focused with an attention to detail? If it also says that you are a great team player, we want to hear from you. We use strengths and asset based approach in our practice; how individuals can be supported by the strengths they have in themselves, their network of support from family, friends and their local communities. Where care and support is required we work to ensure that this reflects the individual's assessed needs and strengths while promoting their independence, choice and control. We encourage positive risk taking with a 'home is best' philosophy, this is reflected in our performance as Telford and Wrekin is proud to have a lower than national average per population of admissions into long term placements for older people. The Social Worker roles are expected to undertake statutory Social Work functions in line with the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act. To undertake duties expected of Social Workers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework and in accordance with the specific job description attached. The Social Work roles will work with complex adults, their carers/family as directed by the Team Leader. We are proud to offer a working environment that is supportive and rewarding, where professional curiosity is actively encouraged, while working as part of a team who are passionate about the work they do. We offer great training and development options to all roles. We have a supportive management team which encourages critical reflection/supervision and structured progression routes for all our Social Workers. Here is a quote from a Social Worker who has recently moved on from our team: Allow me to call this team The Simpsons - each worker is different and very special. At the end of the day, we always had positive outcomes, ensured your team were alright and made readjustments and changes when needed. We all had our own way of working but each one of us in our own unique way was allowed and given the place to contribute positively, grow and thrive positively and in a very professional as well as personal way - invaluable. As a team of leaders, you have provided a wonderful, growth led and happy environment. You all were and are still most available, open to be consulted and approached, encouraging and not micro managers which really gave me the space to thrive and hopefully contribute to the team as I learnt from the team equally too. Your openness to take and learn from the team workers, to try new things and ways of working is invaluable - provided a learning environment. If you share our passion for making a difference, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please click on the links below to view the job description and person specification.
