Full Job Description

  • The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians, and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services within an Urgent Treatment setting in a widely diverse locality. The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) provides a 7-day a week, 24-hours a day service 365 days a year. The post holder will require to work day & night shifts, with the aim to avoid hospital admission through clinical assessment or streaming to primary care/acute services when possible., · Registered Nurse/Paramedic responsible for patients and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care, including being professionally and legally accountable · Work as an autonomous advanced practitioner within the Urgent Treatment Centre · Able to undertake physical examination to diagnose undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems · To assess, treat, refer or discharge any patient attending the Urgent Treatment Centre · To recognise and take appropriate actions in an emergency situation · To take clinical responsibility for patients and carers, · To work with students and other junior health professionals · To provide health promotion and safety netting information to patients and carers · Maintain a high quality of care for all patients and carers attending the unit · Facilitate access of patients into secondary or community care settings as appropriate, This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time). High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time)., · An experience nurse who, within their professional boundaries, sees patients within a walk-in environment and provides care including streaming patient, initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients presenting at the practice.
