Full Job Description

We are expanding! and we are pleased to announce this exciting opportunity to join our Advanced Clinical Practitioner team at Maidstone and Tunbridge wells Hospitals., We are a two-hospital site trust, and as a trainee ACP to work in the emergency departments and acute medical units on both sites.

You will be joining a team of over 20 other enthusiastic tACP's in emergency medicine, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through the Emergency departments (ED). There is also the requirement to train towards supporting the joint partnership clinical co-ordination single point of access. This novel project run between the acute trust, local ambulance service and community frailty team aims to get patients seen by the right people at the right time. This supports the national agenda for hospital avoidance.

In addition to our strong nursing team, we have an excellent senior medical team that work closely with us in providing a patient-centred service.

The role of trainee ACP involves programme of academic, and work-placed based education. Culminating in either credentialing as an ACP with the royal college of emergency medicine (RCEM).The post holder will be expected and supported to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practitioner at one of our partner universities.

Qualified ACPs will be expected to undertake their role across the four pillars of advanced practice as well as provide supervision and support to junior staff and trainees., You will be allocated a ED consultant mentor and supervisor who will support you through your RCEM e-portfolio and other competency assessments, you will be supported will be expected to attend study days and courses including ALS, ePALS ATLS and regular teaching sessions within the department and regional ACP events.

As either an experienced Nure, Pharmacist, Paramedic Practitioner or Therapist Practitioner, with at least 2 years' experience in a band 6 post or above in an acute environment, and following a period of education, assessment and competency sign off, the post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating complex programmes of care within the acute and emergency care settings. At which time the post holder will be viewed as an autonomous practitioner and will be fully responsible for managing their own caseload and assessing, treating, referring and discharging those patients in their care, with support where required., Would you like to work flexibly?
