Full Job Description

As ACP you would be required to be competent in the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with a range of Haematological conditions and be competent in providing an initial clinical diagnosis and assessment. As well as undertaking investigations and procedures within your scope of practice. You would be required to demonstrate clinical expertise and autonomy to manage acutely unwell patients and provide appropriate escalation.

The post includes both inpatient and outpatient work by providing support to our Haematology Ward (Gate 21 at Pinderfields Hospital), support our Chemo day units, Medical infusion unit and Acute Oncology unit with advice for Haematology patients that attend those units.

You would be required to act as a resource for junior staff and teach and clinically supervise RN's, Trainee ACP's, registrars and junior doctors by example, demonstration, explanation and evaluation. This would include staff on the ward as well as supporting our CNS team.

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working on your own initiative and in collaboration with nursing, medical and allied health professionals to assess individual patient needs, initiate investigations, determine a differential diagnosis and initiate appropriate holistic evidence based treatment and care.

The post holder must be motivated and able to work independently whilst working within the wider health care team within agreed protocols and guidelines

The post holder will be required to work across our 3 sites and cover both inpatient and outpatient services. The post involves working on our 18 bedded Haematology unit unit as well as in outpatient clinics and supporting Haematology patients in our Acute Oncology day case unit.

The post holder requires a Masters level qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice ideally within Haematology and be a non-medical prescriber.
