Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Urgent Treatment Centre which is part of the wider Emergency Services Group at New Cross Hospital.

You will be working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within the Urgent Treatment Centre at New Cross Hospital. The position will be on a rostered basis 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week throughout the year, hours negotiable., The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of evidence-based nursing care in designated area of work for patients presenting with long term conditions/minor ailments/injuries, and the provision of preventative health care.

As an autonomous practitioner you will be responsible for the care delivered demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management of patients.

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment/care

Successful ACP's, will assess, examine, diagnose and treat adult and paediatric patients with minor injuries and illness within a defined scope of acuity, presentation and their own professional scope of practice. .

There is also an expectation for ACP's to support trainee practitioners and medical staff, wishing to develop their minor injuries / illness skills within an urgent care setting

We are looking for qualified and experienced Band 8a advanced clinical practitioners are passionate about their role, professional development and achieving better outcomes for patients.

Suitable applicants for the post will have successfully completed an accredited Minor Injuries and Minor Illness module (or equivalent) and hold a current non-medical prescribing qualification (V300). They will have previous experience working autonomously in a Primary / Acute or Urgent Care setting., You will ideally have previous experience of telephone triage of patient
