Full Job Description

The Trust has two EDs; one on the Queen Elizabeth (QE) site and one on the University Hospital site (UHL); which are some of the busiest within London seeing in the region of 140,000(QE) and 119,000(UHL) patients annually. The team on both sites is made up of a range of senior nursing and medical roles, who are supportive of this role. We have a dedicated ACP lead Consultant that covers both sites.

The trainee ACP role will provide expert patient assessment and management as outlined in the job description in all areas of the department and will be expected to work on both QE and UHL sites during the trainee phase. The trainee will also support and work within the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service .

The role will have a 24 hour 7 day rota allocation.

Candidates are required to have significant acute care experience and are welcomed from both an appropriate nursing or allied health care background. You must be dedicated to the requirements of the training phase as outlined below. The trainee ACP will be a senior member of the ED team and as such would be required to demonstrate self-motivation, dedication to high quality of care and clearly evidence their own personal and professional development., 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of trust staff through training and development
