Full Job Description

You will be part of an established team of trainee and credentialed RCEM ACPs who are working across all areas of the department, minors, majors, ambulatory, and resus. As an ACP service we have a proven track record of success and are proud of the 10 trainees that have already completed their RCEM training, across Adults and Paediatrics. You will provide high-quality, patient focused, efficient and comprehensive assessment and treatment to a range of patients arriving through our front doors. Alongside this you will receive professional support, training and supervision from peers, nursing colleagues, ACPS and Doctors.
The service is Consultant led with professional leadership from the ACP lead. Continued training will be supported externally and in-house education and training led by the ED consultant body. The Trust and department have strong links with local HEI and we encourage our team to be involved in the education of the next generation of ACPs and Nurses. We encourage our ACPs to explore areas of interest and we look to support those interests for the benefit of our patients.

Please note, this role includes working a clinical pattern covering a 24/7 rota., 1. To be an expert clinical practitioner, who ensure patients receive high quality clinical care including medical diagnosis.
2. To be a motivated, dynamic practitioner, striving for improvement in care and practice.
3. To monitor quality and continuity of patient care, lead in nursing audit, taking action to address improvements required.
4. To ensure that care is based and planned on an individual assessment for a positive patient experience.
5. To ensure that effective discharge planning and health promotion is carried out.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.

DBS

The ideal candidate will already be credentialed with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine as an ACP. Our credentialed ACPs work as autonomous practitioners delivering emergency care across all areas of the ED.
