We have recently commenced robotic cardiac surgery alongside our existing and successful thoracic robotic surgery programme.
We're a dedicated, supportive and ambitious team offering excellent training and development opportunities, we actively encourage nurse and AHP led research and offer clinical academic development pathways., The post holder will be responsible for leading on the provision and delivery of pre-operative care to both cardiac and thoracic surgical patients. This will include providing effective communication between clinical teams, and acting as a point of contact for patients and their next of kin.
As a key member of the surgical team they will use the integrated care pathway (ICP) and supporting protocols as a framework for the decision making process to safely prepare for surgery and improve the quality of patient care.
The post holder will function as an autonomous practitioner providing an expert level of care, including advanced assessment of patients and the initiation of treatment and investigations as required.
