Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Acute Services at Cambridge University Hospital for an Advanced Occupational Therapy Team Lead. The role would have a particular focus on delivering an Occupational Therapy service to older people within the hospital, particularly the frail elderly.

This is an exciting time to join Acute Services as new models of care and closer working relationships with Physiotherapists are being further developed. In addition, the service strives to foster effective relationships with Community Services in order to aid patient care on discharge.

We are looking for an innovative team player to lead the team, manage the day to day running of service and enable the optimal timely flow of patients through the hospital., You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with highly developed clinical skills. You will undertake a Team Leader role within Acute Care and thus take a lead role in initiating, planning, implementing and leading the service developments in an Occupational Therapy Team on a day-to-day basis.

You will provide occupational therapy to patients, working autonomously and without direct supervision. You will ensure safe and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and agency teams and the Professional Lead and Divisional Service Leads in Occupational Therapy. You will also work closely with the Divisions to reduce length of stay and readmission rates.
