Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Team at Kings College Hospital. An interesting and varied role has arisen for an experienced, driven and strategic pharmacy technician.As one of the busiest hospitals in London the post holder would work as part of a diverse fast paced team managing Procurement, Distribution and contributing to the Patient Services teamThe post holder would provide professional leadership on matters linked to Pharmacy Projects (Within Procurement, Distribution and Patient Services.,

  • To have a working knowledge of all procedures, legislation or national guidelines relating to the storage and dispensing of unlicensed medicinal products, controlled drugs, and oral chemotherapy.
  • To have a working knowledge of the Epic computer system.
  • To support the operational management and maintenance of accuracy of drug stock levelsacross the Trust and information on the Pharmacy Epic and Omnicell system.
  • To assist and deputise for the Omnicell System Administrator with all Omnicell related management including monitoring of the Omnicell shared Email inbox, assisting with Omnicell instillations and contributing to the optimisation of the Omnicell service.
  • To investigate and correct discrepancies across dispensary/ stores/ward areas in a timely fashion.
  • To ensure that 'to-follow' or unavailable products are closely tracked and monitored and staff informed/appropriate action taken.
  • To act as a technical systems manager along with the senior band 6 technician inProcurement/Distribution for the automated dispensing systems (robot & Omnicell) to ensure the systems are used to their' full potential.
