An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced physiotherapist to join the North East Assisted Ventilation Service. The successful candidate will join a team of physiotherapists and support the service in commencing and supporting long term ventilation in patients as a life supportive therapy, both in hospital and at home. In addition to the essential requirements of the role, the post holder is required to maintain and improve professional and specialist expert knowledge, skills and competence to ensure the delivery of evidence based practice in line with the Chartered Society Physiotherapy Professional Code of Conduct. + Interview Date: 14 January 2025 + 37 hours 30 minutes/week + You will be redirected to Trac to apply for the vacancy. For further information on The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust please visit: Careers | Newcastle Hospitals | NHS | Newcastle Hospitals and Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, · The post holder will share 24 hour non-medical responsibility for the home ventilation service ensuring effective management of resources for planned and emergency activity · Commences and supports long term ventilation as a life support therapy to patients in hospital and at home · Continues to develop a secretion management pathway incorporating the use of mechanical assisted cough · Will provide shared leadership to the nursing/ AHP /non-medical and support team and ensure the highest standards of care delivery are implemented and delivered. · Contribute to the continuing development of Home Ventilation team and responsibility for the delivery and quality of services provided · Abide by Trust policies when dealing with complaints, accidents and incidents. · Maintain discipline within the clinical area, abiding by Trust Disciplinary Procedure Policies · Participate, as a member of interviewing panels in the appointment of staff, and be aware of legislation and local personnel policies affecting the employment of staff. · Undertake research and lead clinical audit in own specialist area of practice.
