Full Job Description
Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital has a reputation as a centre of excellence providing high quality paediatric care to the local, regional and the national population. We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our Long Term Ventilation (LTV) respiratory team on a 12 month fixed term basis. You must have proven paediatric respiratory expertise with some experience of working with children with long term ventilation needs. You should also exhibit leadership qualities. The post offers the opportunity to work within both acute and community settings and requires the therapist to assess, treat and manage a varied caseload of children with acute and chronic LTV needs. Supervision and teaching is an essential part of the role. There will be an expectation that the post holder will show an interest in service development, audit and research. The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential to, work, To organise, co-ordinate and deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service to children and young people with Long Term Ventilation (LTV) needs in a variety of settings including clinic, outpatient department, ward/PICU environment, patient's home and school. This will include providing specialist expertise in the physiotherapy management of children requiring LTV and to provide supervision and training to a variety of other professionals.
